Our Charity Work

Read About Our Selected Charity – The Cairngorms Mountain Rescue Team

At Kinrara, we are very aware of our surroundings. We are fortunate to be based within the heart of the fantastic Cairngorm mountain range and national park.

The estate has many fantastic walking routes and natural tracks over the grouse moors and beyond, however, the Cairngorms aren’t always beautiful. On occasion, the Scottish weather and adverse conditions at higher altitudes can make for challenging conditions and even injury.

To this end, we are grateful to the ladies and gents of the local mountain rescue team who are on call 24hrs a day, 365 days a year to help out anyone in distress within the national park.

CMRT provide assistance to injured or lost persons in the mountains. The vast area that they cover includes the Northern Cairngorms, Ben Alder and areas of Monadhliath Mountains to the East Side of Loch Ness.

The team is made up entirely of volunteers who give their time freely to help those in need of aid in the mountains. They are based at St Columbas Rescue base, Inverdurie, Aviemore. It is here that they coordinate their rescues which are predominantly in the Northern Cairngorms.

Kinrara Distillery have chosen to support the CMRT as our nominated charity this year. This will see us donating  and supporting the team throughout the coming year.
