The History of Kinrara Gin Distillery
Our Cairngorms Gin Distillery is located just outside the picturesque town of Aviemore, one of Scotland’s most well-known highland towns. The natural beauty that surrounds our distillery has been the core inspiration for our award-winning craft gins.
We are lucky enough to be immersed in rich Scottish history and we use the stories and natural landscapes of the area as our basis to create small-batch Scottish gins that blend traditional spirit-production methods with the innovation and artistry of modern tastes. We are constantly looking to break boundaries by creating bold new flavours that reflect our Scottish heritage and represent the men and women that roamed the highlands before us. We take great care in all aspects of our production, from our thoughtful ingredient selection right down to our artistically designed bottles.
Even our building is steeped in history. Formerly a milking shed situated on the Kinrara Estate, the quaint charm and rich history of the building has allowed us to create one of the most authentic gin distilleries throughout all of Scotland.

Kinrara Gin Tasting Experience: What to expect?
So what can you expect when coming along to our Cairngorms Gin Distillery for a special gin tasting session?
Upon starting our gin tasting experience, one of our knowledgeable team members will talk you through the history of Kinrara Distillery, sharing details about the local area, the natural landscapes and how we’ve drawn inspiration from our surroundings to create incredible, award-winning Scottish Gins. We’ll also share stories about our own gin production, our bold experimentation and everything that is involved in our daily process.
After we share our production secrets and educate you on the rich history of our distillery, we’ll move on to the part that you came for; Our gin tasting sessions. Your Kinrara team member will guide you through a series of sample gin tastings, giving you a run down on the notes and flavours, as well as answering any questions you may have about our unique craft gins and our production process.
Our Gin Tasting Experience is family-friendly and children are more than welcome to join. Our gin tours are typically arranged for 6-8 people so that we can deliver a personal touch and ensure you won’t don’t feel overcrowded.

Private Gin Distillery Tours & Tastings
If you’re after a private gin tasting, we can tailor our tasting experiences to your needs. We offer private tasting experiences for Hen Parties, Stag Dos or any other type of special occasion.
